Community Science Engagement

CNHP seeks community scientists to help collect plant, animal, insect, wetland, and other habitat data as part of our Statewide Natural Heritage Survey. Your efforts will greatly enhance our understanding of Colorado's biodiversity by identifying key species, assessing habitat conditions, and exploring under-surveyed regions. As CNHP begins our second year of the Statewide Survey, we look forward to your involvement in our upcoming field season!

iNaturalist 101

CNHP recently hosted an iNaturalist training with our partners at CSU Extension, Colorado Native Plant Society, Great Old Broads for Wilderness, and the Adopt a Rare Plant Program. Follow the links below to view the training materials and learn more.

Regional Partnership Engagement

To accomplish the goals of the Statewide Natural Heritage Survey and the Colorado Outdoor Partnership, CNHP has partnered with the Regional Partnerships Initiative. CNHP is interested in supporting the needs of each Regional Partnership by documenting specific landscapes that are important for biodiversity conservation and supporting the efforts of Colorado's Outdoors Strategy.

CNHP identified 21 counties (aligned with 7 of the 21 Regional Partnerships) as our focus for the upcoming field season with the goal of leveling up conservation data across the state and providing communities with data that helps with decision making and supporting both conservation and outdoor recreation planning.
