My name is Victoria Oliu, and I am majoring in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability here at CSU. Being a part of the Siegle Conservation Science Internship this past summer was life changing for me. It gave me different perspectives in to career paths I can take through ecological restoration, botany, wetlands, wildlife biology and stream ecology. It was an eight day hitch where we surveyed 8 sites across the Rawlins region of the state. I learned how to collect bugs from the stream, identify a variety of riparian plants, and how to take substrate and stream\/water quality measurements. In addition, it was the first time I had ever been camping for that long of a time &#8211; so it was a great lesson in camping as well.
