Species Profile
Myotis evotis have been found to use caves in CO in small numbers (Siemers 2002, Navo et al. 2002). However, this species is known to be a roost generalist in other locations across the western U.S. which should reduce its vulnerability to cave access issues. Thus, gating efforts are rarely needed to ensure continued use of caves used by this species but, if installed incorrectly, could have detrimental effects to small isolated populations.
