Species Profile
While MYLU rely on riparian areas for foraging and drinking, they adapt very well to urban areas and readily utilize the stable, warm buildings as maternity colonies. As seen in EPFU, there numbers might eventually increase in areas where urbanization is occurring. Studies have show that bats exploiting buildings may benefit from urban exapnsion in areas with adjacent foraging habitats (Soper and Fenton).
