Species Profile
Research has shown urban development to be deterimental to bats (Geggie and Fenton 1985, Kurta and Teramino 1992) and may result in declines in overall bat abundance and diversity (Pierson 1998). However, as this spcies is relatively uncommon in the state and its distribution doesn't overlap with areas likely to be developed (i.e. canyons and deserts) urbanization is less likely to impact the statewide population of this species.
