Extermination of Bats

While this species has been found using human made structures in CO it is less common in urban areas and widely distributed across the western 2/3 of the state  (Fitzgerald et al. 1994).   However, maternity colonies have been found in structures, increasing the possibility of extermination due to public perception of bats and fear of disease.
