This species is not specific to rangeland habitats where monocultures of invasive plant or pest control would impact diet resources. The agricultural lands of western Colorado may have increased use of pesticides, but the habitat use of M. californicus is relatively broad and may not be severely impacted by pesticide use in ag. lands.
