Species Profile
This species does use abandoned structures, MYCA is not very common in CO, occurring primarily in dry canyons, semi-desert shrublands, and pinon-juniper woodlands, not overlapping significantly with major populated areas in the state. However, public perception of bats and fear of disease has and could lead to the extermination of larger numbers of bats (Tuttle 1987), potentially elevating this risk to a much more critical level, especially for a species that is less common in the state.
